Paul Walmsley was at one point “Britain’s ‘most wanted criminal'” for serious organised crime police – a consequence of his part in a Liverpool drug-smuggling ring. After spending six years evading arrest by fleeing to the Spanish Costas, he returned to the UK and handed himself in to face prosecution, subsequently serving time at HMP Kirkham.
Paul is now a tutor and lecturer at the Jamie Carragher Sports and Learning Academy on Merseyside, and works with challenging young people on a project oriented towards life enrichment and crime prevention. Paul will be speaking about his life and experiences both professionally in the prevention and enrichment project, and his own insights around becoming involved in criminal activity as well as reform while in prison.
